With deep family roots and a long time citizen, Lenderrick "RICO" Taylor is a native son of Canton. As a product of the Canton Public School District, Lenderrick Taylor is a graduate of Canton High School. Lenderrick holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance, Marketing, and Real Estate. While pursuing his college degree at Ole Miss, Lenderrick was active in various organizations which included AmeriCorps and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. As a committed servant to the community, he was a longstanding mentor at the Boys and Girls club.
Upon completing his undergraduate tenure, Lenderrick went into the financial industry as a Banker and an Investment and Insurance associate. Lenderrick also earned a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi. Prior to entering law school, to show his commitment to Canton, he was a volunteer assistant math teacher at Canton Elementary helping students to improve their math comprehension and test taking skills.
Lenderrick is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association as well as the Magnolia Bar Association. He has expanded his legal knowledge and expertise to better serve the needs of those under represented in the legal system from work in the Hinds County Youth court and the Hinds Public Defenders office. Lenderrick furthered his legal experience as a law clerk in the Hinds County Circuit Court.
The passion and commitment that Lenderrick "RICO" Taylor has given to his profession has carried over to the vision for progress he has for Canton. He is a faithful member of Priestley Chapel M.B. Church and serves on the mentoring team. Lenderrick has been a trusted volunteer within the school system and Canton community. As a strong believer in the "Canton Can" motto for the Canton Public School District, he is committed to putting the children first. Lenderrick serves as a mentor at Porter Middle School through the I!Can mentoring initiative. Through the Canton Parks and Recreation Youth Sports Program department, he is a coach for youth baseball and basketball teams.
Canton has this extraordinary potential and Lenderrick firmly believes in Ward 1 as being a great community to help reach that potential!
