"I come from a proud family that has been involved in the community of Canton for as long as I can remember. Now I want to be a public servant for you. We need to improve our community involvement in schools, create a more attractive community, and make public safety, through community policing, our main goals. With over ten years of combined financial and legal experience, I am certain my past experiences, leadership abilities, personal skills, and hard work ethic can be well-used in this position. Being an Alderman means there needs to be great focus on accountability and responsibility. It means I have an actual duty to think about the interests of Ward 1 and the City of Canton as a whole. I would strive to work with my fellow Aldermen and Alderwomen as a team towards solutions for the betterment of our city. I am not running because of any political relationships, special interests or ulterior motive...but simply because I want to continue me dedication to public service as the next alderman of the Ward 1."

EDUCATION
We need a strong, dynamic school system. I still believe that good schools are the heart of a growing city. Educational success is the result of parents, educators, and students working together. As Alderman of Ward 1:
-
I will encourage the Board of Aldermen to take more responsibility for our school system and have healthy, proactive discussions about school related issues.
-
I will work to build a stronger relationship between the Board of Aldermen, School Committee, the Public School system and other programs that support our families and youth.
-
I will focus on city programs to keep children involved in sports, community service, and after school programs.
PUBLIC SAFETY
We can focus on increasing trust between residents and the police, but we also need to make sure that the city is as safe as we can make it. As Alderman of Ward 1:
-
I will work toward building community and police relations with a greater emphasis on community policing by creating a review committee consisting of Canton Police Officers and citizens .
-
I will work to form a program with the Canton Police Department to have officers spend a block of time each month or quarter introducing themselves to people on the Ward 1 streets they patrol.
-
I will work to build a strong neighbor hood watch program where residents can assist in keeping the community safe and look out for the interests of all residents/businesses in Ward 1.
COMMUNITY
All neighborhoods count! I firmly believe that no one knows a neighborhood better than the people who live there. Our Community and how we manage it reflects on our quality of life. As Alderman of Ward 1:
-
I will explore more opportunities for business revitalization. We need to work closer with local businesses to to help them to stay in business with support of local residents.
-
Argue for better Board of Aldermen oversight of Canton City boards, agencies and commissions, which means I will negotiate the best opportunities for the people of the Ward 1.
-
I will work to create a neighborhood "Spring Clean" program to maintain and keep a clean appearance of our neighborhoods and expanding it to a quarterly event.
TRANSPARENCY
Board of Aldermen Service is a privilege. Aldermen must always remember that we serve the public and cannot take that public for granted. We need to pay attention when residents express their concerns to better understand how to address them. As Alderman of Ward 1:
-
I will communicate about relevant issues, using email, Facebook and other electronic communication to keep residents informed.
-
I will attend scheduled board meetings and use similar public venues to interact directly with residents and businesses of Ward 1.
-
I will support efforts to create more effective dialogue between the Board of Aldermen and local residents.
